Description

Our 3.5” Aluminum Driveshaft built with an advanced slip and spline is our latest development at PST. Stronger, easier to fit, and more reliable than the CV build, it is a driveshaft that we are proud to bring to market. Our durable and capable 3.5-inch aluminum shaft is popular for reason. It’s engineered as an ideal match for Mustangs 2005 and later, as well as Camaros 2010 and later.

The shaft includes one adapter flange.

We also ensure that this driveshaft is built to exacting standards.
•  Hydraulically straightened tubing built to a .010” total turnout at the center
•  Tube yokes welded to within a .004” runout on each end
•  Shafts are computer balanced to less than a ⅛ ounce/inch variance as an assembly

This state-of-the-art component can handle the strip or the street thanks to a 1,000-horsepower rating and 7,800 RPM maximum critical speed. This driveshaft comes with a flange on the back for the rear.

Superior Performance and Unmatched Strength in Mustang Driveshafts

If you are adding horsepower to your stock Mustang, then you know you will need to upgrade your driveshaft. PST has consistently been producing the leading after-market driveshafts for Mustangs for over twenty years. Our aluminum Mustang driveshafts are available in a variety of diameters, with our 4’’ aluminum driveshaft promising up to 2,000 horsepower. All of our driveshafts are balanced and tested at high speeds to ensure no vibrations and that each of our shafts is race-ready.

For Low Weight, High Power, and Street-Ready Applications – Choose Aluminum

An aluminum driveshaft for your Mustang is a good choice when you’re looking for a low, weight, high power, and street-ready application. Carbon fiber is sometimes considered an alternative, however the excess heat produced by prolonged street driving can break down the bonds in the carbon fiber shaft. If you’re planning on driving your ride on the street (in non-racing applications) then we recommend going with an aluminum shaft. You’ll see faster track times and smooth operation out of our aluminum shafts, which comes from the lower weight of these shafts than traditional steel.

A Mustang Driveshaft that Looks Great, Performs Great

One of the benefits of our aluminum driveshafts is that you can polish them to a truly beautiful sparkling sheen if you are putting it in your show car. The great look is just the beginning. Each of our aluminum Mustang driveshafts comes with slip/joints/CV. Our 3.5’’ aluminum driveshaft will stand up to whatever you throw at it, up to 1,000 horsepower and 7,800 RPM with best-in-class torsional strength and reliability. If you have higher horsepower needs, we can make your aluminum Mustang driveshaft in a 4.0’’ tube diameter (OD), which supports up to 2,000hp.

FAQ:

Do you have a driveshaft for a 1995 Mustang/Camaro/etc.?

Yes, we do, but we don’t always think about it like that. All of our driveshafts are based on measurements, not makes/models. Because each one of our driveshafts is custom ordered and custom manufactured, we’ll need to know details about your driveshaft, transmission, and rear end – not about what make/model you have.

Can you shorten my driveshaft?

Whether or not we can shorten your shaft depends on the material that it’s made from. For steel and chromoly, for the most part yes, we can shorten your shaft, unless it’s an OEM shaft. We do not shorten OEM shafts. For aluminum shafts, we will do a shorten job unless the driveshaft is from a kit. You’ll know if your aluminum driveshaft is from a kit if the weld is about 2 inches down the shaft from the corner, rather than being right there at the edge of the driveshaft. For carbon fiber, we try to stay away from shortening jobs. The only cases when we would shorten a carbon fiber driveshaft are if you need more than 7 inches removed and the driveshaft is relatively new.

Do you offer carbon sleeves?

No, we do not offer carbon sleeves. We know that carbon sleeves are available in the marketplace, but we don’t see why you would ever want one, so we don’t carry them.

Can I get stickers?

Yes, we can include stickers with your shipment if you would like.
